Monks Bar

spiritsup20

This week we went to Monks Bar in Belper. It is part of a chain in the UK which is quite well-known. It is open every day of the week from 1 pm or 4 pm till 12 am.

We arrived at 8.30 pm and had no trouble getting in, the bar was a little busy but still upheld its lively atmosphere. There were menus scattered all over the bar and looked like little books. The menus had little sections to help customers choose their drinks. The sections were things like classics, mocktails, the bar's favourite and so on. The bar was only one floor and for the night we went it filled up quite quickly. The bar was at the entrance and was easily accessible for all. The seating areas were dimly light and had quite dark colours. This gave the bar more of enhancement because it was bright and clear. The seating areas would suit all kinds from a larger group to couples. The music which was played was predominately indie rock and pop, it was a very lively atmosphere.

We got served very quickly and the bartender was polite and helpful with our questions and queries.

First, we got our classic pronstar martini. It seemed a classic right until the end when they put their own twist on it. They put the passion fruit in, added some brown sugar on top and they then light it on fire. They also added a spoon in the drink for you then to eat it out. It tasted amazing and was only £8.25

Then was the mocktail. I choose a black

forest gateau. It was in a champagne glass and reminded me of a chocolate milkshake. It was so easy to drink and was a bit of fun. It was £4.

Then lastly was the bar's drink of choice. We got a tropical breeze. The first thing about this drink is to watch it being made. If you want a drink to put on your social media this is the one! It is bright, colourful and fun. It is a very summery drink and makes you feel like you sat

outside on a hot day just chilling with your friends.

Maisie’s favourite was the tropical breeze because it was fruity and fun to watch. We were also told that the bar does deals. They do a happy hour 5 pm-7 pm every day and all day on a Sunday. They also do 2 for 1 in the happy hour and a bottle of prosecco for £16. These deals are well known, and the bar was incredible!!
